Five Simple Steps is All it Takes
Are you ready to learn another new Canva design trick that can elevate your designs to the next level and increase your knowledge base of this cutting-edge free tool? If yes, keep reading. This blog post will show you how to outline text in Canva in five (5) simple steps. It doesn’t get much easier than this!
Step 1
Head over to Canva’s homepage and create a custom blank canvas of any size. Do this by clicking on “Create a design” in the top right corner, entering the custom size dimensions (Width & Height) of your choice, and lastly, clicking on “Create new design“.
For the purposes of this guided tutorial, I will be using the custom size dimensions of 1000 x 622 px.
Step 2
Select the blank canvas by using the mouse to click anywhere on it. Then hit “t” on your keyboard. This will cause a customizable “Text Box” with the words “Your paragraph text” to appear in the center of the blank canvas.
Step 3
Change the words “Your paragraph text” in the “Text Box” to a phrase, font size, font style, and font color of your choice.
I will be typing the name of my blog, “Digital Creator Domz“, as the phrase in the text box. Moreover, I will be using the font size “73“, the font style “Corben“, and the font color “263D54“, in my design. I have also “Bolded” my text.
Step 4
Select your “Text Box” by clicking on it, then click on “Effects” in the top menu, followed by “Splice” in the sidebar menu (when these two menus pop up on the screen).
Step 5
Using the control levels for the “Splice” effect in the sidebar, change the “Thickness” level to “90″, the “Offset” level to “0“, and the Inner Text “Color” to any color of your choice.
For my Inner Text “Color“, I used “F39896“.
And that’s it. Now you have learned the five steps on how to outline text in Canva.
To download your “Outlined Text” design to your device, simply click “Share” in the top right corner before clicking “Download” twice.
Canva provides users with the option to download designs as PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, MP4, or GIF all free of cost.
